The official website for the NARUTO anime franchise announced a new anime project: to air four "brand-new" episodes starting in September 2023 to celebrate the TV anime's 20th anniversary back in 2022.

The functions of the ninja included espionage, sabotage, infiltration, and assassination, as well as open combat in certain situations.
The ninja, using covert methods of waging war, were contrasted with the samurai, who had strict rules about honor and combat.

Action anime usually involve a fairly straightforward story of good guys versus bad guys, where most disputes are resolved by using physical force. It often contains a lot of shooting, explosions and fighting.
